Selv med den st\u00f8rste omhu under en rodbehandling er det n\u00e6sten umuligt at opn\u00e5 en bakteriet\u00e6t forsegling af rodfyldningen. Tanden er koloniseret af patogene bakterier, som nedbryder v\u00e6vet og producerer giftige toksiner. Disse er igen i stand til at h\u00e6mme vitale enzymer, som er n\u00f8dvendige for f.eks. \u00e5ndedr\u00e6tsk\u00e6den.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; margin-bottom: 0px;\">L\u00f8sningen: Rodbehandlede t\u00e6nder, der giver problemer, skal fjernes. Men hvordan finder tandl\u00e6gen ud af, om en tand er roden til en sygdom?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; margin-bottom: 10px;\">R\u00f8ntgendiagnostik er en velegnet metode til at opdage disse interferensfelter. Det er her, biotandl\u00e6gen registrerer, om der er opst\u00e5et en bet\u00e6ndelse omkring den behandlede rod. Derudover kan en lille v\u00e6vspr\u00f8ve unders\u00f8ges i laboratoriet for metaboliske slutprodukter fra de tandkoloniserende bakterier. Sidst, men ikke mindst, er den s\u00e5kaldte testinjektion med procain en diagnostisk foranstaltning til at opdage interferensfelter p\u00e5 parodontiet. Det sker ved, at tandl\u00e6gen spr\u00f8jter en lille m\u00e6ngde prokain ind i den mist\u00e6nkte tand, hvorefter det nedbrydes enzymatisk. Hvis den p\u00e5g\u00e6ldende tand er et interferensfelt i Root2Disease-konceptets forstand, vil patienten normalt bem\u00e6rke \u00e6ndringer i de fysiske klager, der er forbundet med dette interferensfelt.
